Cooking Matters: A Pop-Up Workshop for Children

From 6:00 pm-7:00 pm

This is an interactive workshop that teaches children how to shop for healthy food on a budget.  Skills taught include: Buying fruits and vegetables, comparing unit prices to find bargains, reading and comparing food labels, identifying whole grains, and sticking to a budget.  Participants will receive a book with recipes and tips, and a reusable grocery bag.

"Cooking Matters", a pop-up sponsored by Share Our Strength and Walmart, will take place at Monroe County Intermediate School District's administration building, 1101 S. Raisinville Road, Monroe MI.  Registration is required by contacting Great Start's Nicki Eyler at greatstart@monroeisd.us.
