When we retired in 2006, we came to Florida looking first for an area that offered us accessibility to multiple activities like golf, fishing, shopping and shows; and second for a community that offered a welcoming atmosphere.

Reminiscent of Princeton, New Jersey, the town of Deland, with its quaint shops and main street traveling past the beautiful campus of Stetson University, provided just the setting we wanted. With a choice of golf courses, fishing on the St. John's River and shows at the historic Athens Theater, Deland has kept us busy. It is also close enough to bigger cities like Daytona and Orlando for all the shopping, culture and excitement they offer, yet just far enough away to offer a haven from traffic and noise.

Not too small or too large, the community of Hidden Hills, with nicely manicured homes, on-site activities and friendly people presented us with the opportunity we were looking for to make friends with other new retirees and enjoy an active lifestyle. Our decision to retire here was the right one and our manufactured home provides us with all we need to continue enjoying this time in our life.
