13th Annual Festival Of The Arts

Art demonstrations, live music, recitations, vignettes, exhibition of visual, performance & literary arts!
“Awakening to the Arts” is the theme chosen for The Diamond Valley Arts Council’s 13th Annual Festival of the Arts to be held the third weekend of October. Designed to showcase the talents of local artists, the Festival features an Art Show – a display of visual art – and an Exhibition of original performance and literary art. The event is open to the public. Art entry information for all categories is available at www.thedvac.org, by request todvacinfo@gmail.com or by stopping in at the Arts Center located at 123 N. Harvard St. in Hemet. The Arts Center is open from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm Wednesday through Saturday.
The Festival of the Arts will run from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, October 20th and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 21st. Attendance at the Festival is free.
Each year, the juried Art Show and Exhibition brings to our community a display of outstanding visual art – oils, acrylics, multi-media, ceramics, photography – submitted by talented professional and amateur local artists and a presentation of original performance and literary submitted by local musicians, vocalists, poets, authors playwrights or other who want to share their art. The Art Show portion of the Festival will be on continuous display at the Diamond Valley Arts Center in Historic Downtown Hemet through the end of 2018.
Saturday will include art demonstrations, live music, recitations and theatrical vignettes. Historic Downtown businesses will also participate with coupons, good only the weekend of the festival, for discounts on merchandise or items specially created for the festival. The Festival will conclude on Sunday afternoon with an Awards Presentation Ceremony where the top entries in each category will be announced.
